O'my! Border Collies

Kaboom! is from our only litter from our co-owned Multiple Group-Placing | Multiple OH Group-Winning AKC GCHG CH RACH O'my! Time To Shine BN RE FDC AX AXJ XF CA BCAT RATN DM DSX2 AJ CGCA CGCU TKP VHMA "Shine" (CH RACH Dare/ CH Spryte, bred by us) to the talented AKC PTD MACH2 Holther's Secret Weapon MX MXJ NF "ReCon" (Thunder/Georgia, bred by Holley Grooms). 

Kaboom! is an outgoing, confident, and driven dog with an impressive work ethic and an undeniable zest for life. As of early 2025, he’s officially hit the ground running, making his debut in a wide range of sports including dock diving, flyball, disc, agility, and rally. Kaboom is extremely biddable and a true team player, with a natural balance of intensity and composure; ready to work at a moments notice but able to keep his cool ringside. He has a nice athletic build — he is quick moving and light on his feet. His angles are nicely balanced and he carries a strong, level topline.

He has shown good jumping ability in agility, with a great eye for his lines and an even balance of handler and obstacle focus. He will happily run for anyone, whether he knows them or not.  In Rally, his style is upbeat and eye-catching; he’s a flashy, animated worker who clearly enjoys the job. In disc, he is a solid tracker and has good ability to cut and rate the disc, while demonstrating nice “hops”. Kaboom has also been started in Search and Rescue, with a focus on trailing, where he shows strong natural aptitude and drive. He loves the water and has great natural pop and tracking abilities on the dock; he earned his Dock Master title with ease.. 

At home, Kaboom is a dream to live with: easygoing, intuitive, and affectionate. He’s fantastic with kids and could easily be a juniors dog. He shares a special bond with "his" kid, spending every day adventuring and playing their own versions of flyball, agility, and disc. Kaboom is a true “go-anywhere, do-anything (or nothing!)” kind of dog that is adaptable, resilient, reliable, and a joy in any environment. Versatility and solid temperaments are hallmarks of the ReCon/Shine cross, and Kaboom exemplifies those traits beautifully. He genuinely wants to do the right thing and gives his best in everything he tries.

Kaboom’s dam, Shine, is one of our talented daughters of AKC CH Spryte, who was a huge asset to our breeding program, known for producing versatile multi-sport champions and conformation champions.  Shine has shown excellence in an array of dog sports, with placements at Regional/Nationals in Dock Diving, as well as most recently winning Best of Breed the AKC Owner Handled Series for the Breed in 2024. Kaboom’s sire, ReCon, is a nephew of our beloved late MACH Remedy (multiple Skyhoundz World Champion).  He is an awesome agility dog, who has qualified for multiple AKC Nationals and gone to WT Tryouts. He is from a long line of dual and triple champions. Kaboom is a full sibling to our CH Firefly and co-owned Buzz.  We used Buzzy in our breeding program in 2024 and couldn’t be more thrilled with the results — pups that are versatile, driven, well-tempered, with incredible natural off switches. I am very excited to watch Kaboom’s journey continue to unfold in dog sports in addition to seeing what he will bring to the table in his progeny in the future.
